What type of class would you like to see at Convergence?

Although I am not weaving while away from my loom, I have been visiting interested fiber sites in Italy.

In Perugia, I saw some cotton/linen fabrics from the 1500’s and visited the Brozzetti studio-museum to see real hand-woven artisan work still being produced (www.brozzetti.com). Much of Marta’s work is on MANUAL Jacquard looms--incredibly strenuous. The photo shows the Perugia griffons on the Jacquard with a flying shuttle.  A full set of photos from those visits is on my blog  (www.bishopcreekweaving.com). I am very glad that this studio was suggested for a visit.

Sounds like great fun 10ashus!

I had a fun weekend as well, nearly 10 fibre artists came to my house this weekend with various projects, and nearly everyone had a weaving question or two for me. We all had a very productive, fun time.

I managed to weave 2 feet tablet weaving done. I helped 2 people get their tablet weaving warps going and taught another friend how to weave 1/2 twill using 2 heddles on a rigid heddle loom!

Oh, Erica. The house will be vibrating with joy for many weeks from all the happiness and creative energy.

I have gotten some weaving done! I just sat down after weaving some more color samples! It is nice to be getting weaving done! :) I hope to get some concentrated time at the drawloom this weekend.

Other than picking out some cottom for two different projects I did nothing weaving related. Okay, so I visited in here and and read about weaving but. . .  Maybe next month will be better.

am I the only one?  It happens 100% of the time when I am at home (for the past ~week), and this post is to see if it also happens at work, where i have a fast ethernet connection.

Thanks all for the beaming suggestions on my 60 epi project. I ended up using Kraft paper after all. The warp ended up a loose at the selvages and I had no alternative other than to weight the them when they started to get loose. It worked fine but not the best method I'm sure.
