The year is moving along too fast. Some of you have been very productive the last 31 days, I am not one of those. So I am making a late new years resolution to visit my looms more often this month and in the months to come. Weave on everyone!

Oh, Queezle, that is lovely news! And how fortunate were you to be able to be around such lovely work when young. Perhaps that awoke your interest in weaving? I love Vancouver Island, and am happy I was able to visit once. No more traveling for me, these days. But so lucky to have done so when I could.

Queezle

Cathie, I am so glad that you go to that amazing museum.  My grandmother's name was Mary Sieburth, just in case you are there and wondering about her contributions.  I think my father made a good decision about my grandmother's collection.

We spent part of a day in Victoria last fall while we were driving/ferrying from Vancouver to Seattle.  We decided the next time we're in the Northwest, we'll definately include Victoria.  This exhibit really clinches it.  When we were on Vancouver Island, we saw some wonderful dioramas of pre-Columbian life on the island. If you are interested in the textile arts of the area, the book Cedar, by Hillary Stewart might be interesting.

Radio silence on my end due to Life, Happening.  But I'm back at the loom, not every day, but at least back.  And hopefully things will start to calm down a wee bit before May/June gets stupid busy (if all the classes booked fill).

New blogpost today http://laurasloom.blogspot.com

Queezle, I have friend who lives at Nanaimo, Vancouver Island that I wold lIke to share the news with. She is not a wever but an admirer of the museum. What is your grandmother's name?

I've been on radio silence mode as well. I have been lurking when I could get the time. I did quite a bit of tablet weaving of late, because that fits on the couch with my legs up!

For those eagerly awaiting my next class video. I've also been rather busy editing my class video, which is quite time consuming. I must confess I do not have the time for a full professional editing job on my class video (that takes approximately one hour for each minute of video). I'm already at 60 mintues of video and don't have everything I had orignally planned filmed.

I finally got back to my samitum weaving, which at 48 picks per inch, I'll post a photo when I have another inch woven. :)

too. I wish I could say it was because I was busy weaving but. . .  I have been knitting a bit but life has gotten in the way of all my fun! Maybe next month - oh wait! Next month is almost here!
