I have been reading about an old card weaving technique called Hochdorf, for the place where the tomb of a Celtic noble was discovered. The tomb contained card woven texties with a pebble-like appearance. This led me to the website of Kurt Laitenberger who has been weaving Celtic knots in this Hochdorf card weaving technique. The technique produces a motif on both faces of the weaving but they are not structurally the same.
I loved Mr Laitenberger's knotwork bands and decided to see if I could adapt the designs to Andean pebble weave and it worked! I think that a guitar strap would look spectacular in red and black with these designs.
