Are any of the Georgia Weavers going to the Fiber Frolic near Charleston at the beautiful Middleton Inn in late February 2011? I'll be there!  Would love to meet some of my Weavolution friends there.

Hi Suzy, I saw this thinking it was a fiber "sale" it is in fact a spinning retreat. Cheryl sold her high wheel years ago, not enough time to weave, spin and work full time. We have a friend that has a condo at Battery Park and go there when time permits. Cheryl was in Charleston last week for two days for a busness meeting.  Cheryl really likes the Middleton Place Plantation and Inn. Some day we will get together.

Have a happy and safe holiday

Sorry it won't work this time...  Yes... it's a spinning retreat but weavers will also be in attendance!  Looking forward to seeing Middleton Place Plantation.

Did you wind up with a White Christmas?

Happy Holidays to you and Cheryl...  Do you ever get to Savannah?

Yes, and I am willing to share the white stuff with you. It started snowing here around 6PM Christmas Eve and overnight and this morning we got a little over 3 inches of the stuff. I left NY to get aways from the stuff. We are thinking about going to the fashion show at SSofD in May(?)

No, we do not get to Savannah offen. If we head your way it is to go to Charleston or South to St. Marys. From St Marys it a short drive to the FL beaches.

Happy Holidays back at you, you an yours have a great New Year.

Maybe we can get together at Alyse's condo in the Spring. It sleeps six people, more, depending how "amicable" they are to each other.

Yes... I know how you feel... we left NY too so that we could leave SNOW behind!  Our kids in Albany NY, Boston and Providence, RI are buried today!  We only had flurries here... Looking forward to the higher temps -- in the 70s by the weekend!

Have you tried the beach at Tybee???  Its wonderful!

What is SSofD?  Alyse's condo?  Both sound like fun!

That would be The Savannah "School" of Design.

http://www.ask.com/wiki/Savannah_College_of_Art_and_Design Each May they have a fashion show of student works.

Alyse's Condo is at the 1 King Street, the Fort Sumter House over looking Battery Park and the river.

The first time we went to Savannah we looked for the beach not knowing that it did not have one. The beach was on Tybee. We have partied in Savannah on St. Paddy's day. The last time we where in Savannah (Tybee) Cheryl pigged out at an all you can eat crab shack. She was carrying our son who will be 21 in March so it has been sometime since we been to your town.

SSofD... is SCAD!!! OH!  I work there part-time in the SCAD galleries as a docent.  And YES... the fashion show is awesome.  You can see more about it here.

So... Alyse's condo is in Charleston.  Who again is Alyse?

Tybee is great... you'll have to come see for yourself.  Our condo is halfway between downtown historic Savannah and the beach at Tybee.  PERFECT!  Of course it is a bit nippy to swim at Tybee until about March/April (St. Paddy's Day!)  Our Fiber Guild of the Savannahs is having an Art Yarn workshop with JazzTurtle the day after the St. Patrick's Day parade.  Come on down!
