Our advertisers help keep the site free because their support helps pay for development, continued hosting fees and legal fees. Advertisements appear on the left side and bottom of every page and under the Shop tab in the Marketplace.

There is a brief introduction to Laura Fry in the News Forum and I would like to introduce Halcyon Blake of Halcyon Yarn who has been an avid supporter of Weavolution long before our beta launch. I recently asked Halcyon to provide us with information we could share with our users. Here is what she wrote.
Almost 40 years ago, in 1971, Halcyon Yarn (Halcyon The Weaver’s Friend) opened as a small family business in Denver, Colorado. In 1981, we packed up the inventory, baby Gretchen and dachshund to move to a 20,000 sq foot, partially rehabilitated, warehouse on the coast of Maine in the small city of Bath. Our first ad after that was a picture of Gretchen sitting on the beach with a phone. Almost thirty great years later, some personal changes and life’s normal ups and downs, we’ve have almost filled this 105 year old three story building with products and classroom and living space and now have a skilled and dedicated staff of twenty, most of whom are fantastic fiber artists themselves! As Halcyon Yarn has grown, our attention to detail and the desire to meet weavers needs has grown with us. And in the years ahead we will continue changing and improving.

In the course of almost four decades in business Halcyon Yarn has grown steadily to provide a wide range of materials, resources and educational opportunities.
