I decided to start of the new year with a warp that is much longer than I usually create for my backstrap loom and try a 3-color reersible pebble weave in 60/2 silk.
It is stretched out to its full length in this picture while I dressed it with its string heddles. Then I rolled up most of the length around the far beam so I could fit into my weaving space in my bedroom.
I will weave 3-color pebble weave at the start and finish and simplify the pattern for the body of the piece...most likley weaving motifs in silk supplementary weft. The three colors are gold, red and brown. On this face the gold separates the red and brown. On the other face, the red and brown are adjacent and that gives a much bolder look.I prefer this more delicate face.
