Ruthie tapestry loom question

I'm wondering if anyone has a Crisp Ruthie tapestry loom and can assist me?  I have a Ruthie that I bought as a second or third owner and there wasn't an assembly description sheet with it.  I've been happily using the loom for several years now but would like to have copies of any paperwork that might have originally been available with the loom for my files.  Yes, I know that Fireside Looms now makes their Traditional Tapestry loom in a similar way... I'm also contacting Michelle there with this question.  I've posted the query to both the WeaveTech and the Yahoo Tapestry list, as well.

I just got a Crisp Ruthie. Thanks to the above mentioned pdf I figured out the beater had been installed upside down. Fixed that but I have a bigger problem. The steel rails that the counter balance bearings glide on are both missing. Do you know where I can find replacements or dimensions to make something that will work? She has a 60 inch weaving space, about 80 inches overall.. 3 sets of 2 shafts. First loom, no weaving experience and cant wait to get started :-) Thank you for any help!

I have a 60" Ruthie.  When I searched online for photos of what you might be referring to:  The steel rails that the counter balance bearings glide on are both missing. Do you know where I can find replacements or dimensions to make something that will work? 

I found many photos of my loom.  I don't know if one of those might point out what you're needing... do you mean the flat steel "track" that the beater slides back in... is that what you mean?

You might contact Michelle at Fireside Looms to ask her about that, if perhaps what they install on the Fireside Traditional Tapestry loom would work (their loom is modeled on the Ruthie).  They have been very helpful to me in getting assorted parts for my Ruthie.

Good luck with getting the loom up and running.  And... one other thought, if you're unsuccessful to get the beater working you might consider doing the tapestry without using the loom's beater.  It isn't necessary for many methods of doing tapestry.  In fact, I never use the beater as a beating tool.  It holds the reed and I leave the beater/reed at the highest point, never pulling it down to beat the weft in the way I work on tapestry.
