For some reason, the form will not show the yarns. I tried three times and it finally showed one of the warps.  The other warp was a grey-blue cotton, warped in stripes of different widths with the orange, blue predominating.

What did you use for the weft?

Weft is selected from an assortment of rag rolls that I picked up from a weaver closing out her studio.  Cotton and cotton blends, some plain and some patterned.  It was interesting to me how the patterned strips have almost a sort of ikat appearance once woven up.  BTW-- my edges aren't really ballooning like that-- it's the camera lens!

The rug is really pretty.  What a great gift from a wonderful Grandma!

Notes

This is the second of two rag rugs I wove on this warp. I'd meant to use it as a sink rug in my own kitchen. But the colors went so well with the background colors of the mural in my granddaughter's room (her artistic parents painted it) that I decided to give it to her instead. The combination of warp colors against the stripes of rag weft resulted in a subtle color play that picks up the color theme in the mural nicely. She is willing to overlook the slightly uneven selfedge on this one. I had woven about an inch and a half of half-basket weave at either end, and originally was going to hem it. Instead I hemstiched it and left a short twisted and knotted fringe to make it a little fancier for her.
