Daleweaver (not verified)

Took this long warp (for me 11 yds is long) off my loom last March, and it has been sitting and waiting to be finished. The last couple of days I went through the length of it and needle-wove repairs for all skipped warp threads. Fascinating process! Then I zigzag sewed up the ends and threw it into the wash machine on the express cycle (hot wash/ cold rinse), and then into a hot dryer. It's amazing that this sad web of a cloth came out of the dryer resembling something like REAL cloth!  Yeah!

Tomorrow, I am taking it to my dry cleaners and will pay them to give it a hard steam pressing. When I get it back, I'll measure the yardage and then cut and sew it into a blanket for my bed. It will need another wash and dry (and maybe press) before I will call it finished, but that will happened after it is a blanket.

I cannot believe this UFO is finally getting done.

That will be a very nice, warm blanket!

I am a fan of carpet warp, too. It comes in great colors and is cheap, so what's not to like?! And congratulations on morphing from a UFO to a FO! (Don't forget to post the finished blanket on the bed.)

And I don't know how long you have been weaving, but a lot of weavers NEVER even try 11 yards. Hope you give yourself a pat on the back for that, too!
