Gebrochene always reminds me of Marjie Thompson. Have you taken one of her workshops?

Deanna (not verified)

Yes, although there are many fantastic twill patterns, I will always think of Marjie when I do Gebrochene.  This pattern was based on a draft from her workshop.

Notes

I started this project to add to the number of napkins I had after the exchange with the Guild and to use the yarn that I had left over.  I changed the draft from what we were given in the workshop.  I added ends to the corner motif and the center motif to enlarge them to fit the 600 ends I needed to match the size of the first napkins.  The warp went on well, and I will be weaving a blue and a gold napkin in each of the three tie-ups that I am using.  This will give some variation to the napkins.

I am doing all three tie-ups based on the 3/2/1/2 twill tie up.  Since the treadling is the same on all the napkins (tromp as writ) there will be variation but a relationship between them. The three tie-ups are great, it is hard to believe that they are all based on the same twill line, just shifted a little.
