Does  anyone know of a video that demonstrates this technique?

Not sure if you really need lease sticks to warp a rigid heddle.

The direct warping method is about as good as it gets and doesn't use them.

indirect warp on my rigid heddle I don't use lease sticks. I just hold the cross on my fingers and warp off my hand.  But most of the time I just direct warp - faster and easier than the other way. But if you are going to use lese sticks you would just put them through the cross like you would with any other warp.

im having hip surgery and won't be able to walk back and forth for the direct method. I want to wind some warps in advance on my warping board.  Seeing as I'll be on hefty pain melds I don't trust myself to hold the cross adequately. i thought maybe using lease sticks might help me keep my place.

I would tie the cross as usual, then use sticks that are not too long, but long enough to secure to the RH frame somehow. Or use a reed holder on a table top and warp your heddle then put it on the loom. Did that make sense? Might make the warp / lease stick combo a bit more stable than balanacing it on the looom frame. Then just warp away. I think I might also be tempted to not cut all the loops but just do small bouts as you are warping across. Good luck with the warping and with the surgery.

I'll definitely cut small groups at a time. Thanks.

Hi, I'm  new to the group. I'm getting ready to warp my first twill... I understand it takes 2 heddles. Should I do a direct or indirect warp?

Thanks, Barb

I did direct warp when I wove twill on the rigid heddle for the first time. Either method should work just fine, just make sure you properly calculate how many threads you need for the width you desire and measure the necessary warps.
