I just spoke with Macomber and they are horribly backorderd on reeds.  She said they've been waiting for months from their supplier and that what the supplier shipped won't even meet the current backorders.

I only have a 15 dent reed on my Macomber and I'd like to get an 8 or 10 dent reed?  Any suggestions?  I will say Macomber's prices are better than some of the places I've looked at.  I'm kind of getting a similar story from other's that the reeds are taking time to get in.

Have you looked into Gowdy Reeds in Rhode Island? That's where I bought my last one.

Price plus shipping a 60" stainless steel reed to GA just over $200.00... ordered it last week and heard it was shipped yesterday.  I've also gotten narrower reeds from Earth Guild in Asheville, usually picked up at their store so didn't pay shipping on those.

Just ordered from Gowdy.

Thank you.

I've bought from Gowdy 2 times and have been very happy with their product. Not the fastest, but definitely good quality, friwndly and personal service, and all hand made reeds. They've been around for a long time.

I get all my 60" Stainless steel reeds from Leclerc (or Camilla Valley) since I'm in Canada. Never been a problem. To ship something like that to Canada from the US would double to cost.
