Hello!

I have a new to me Schacht Mighty Wolf and was wondering how high the beater should be. I know the threads should touch the shuttle race but how much (if any) pressure should be on the race? I am having trouble finding a happy medium.  Thanks for the help in advance!

The threads have to lie on the shuttle race so you don't pick up threads that are supposed to be down with the nose of theshuttle.  They don't have to exert any pressure on the shuttle race; doing this may cause abrasion on the warp.  Generally, the path of the warp from back beam to front beam will be deflected down by the heddles (the heddles will be lower than the back and front beams) and rise to lie on the shuttle race.  If you are having problems with the warp placement on the race, it may be that the heddles are out of position.  Schacht has very good customer service; you may want to contact them.

Also, be sure that the loom is completely unfolded and locked.

Thanks for the response! You helped me out. I already had talked to schacht and was referred to the adjusting the beater pamphlet they have but it did not mention how the threads should lay on the race. Thanks for the help!
