My little parrot got on the rear beam of my 1978 Mighty Wolf which is in my bedroom. She evidently thought she was doing me a favor by depositing a little gift. Unfortunately she had been eating blueberries and it left a stain. Schacht advised me to sand it and put Danish oil on it. The problem is I'm very sensitive to fumes and it would also have potentially fatal consequences for my parrot, who lives near the loom. Is there a more natural solution to this, like beeswax? Advice is appreciated. In a later post I'll ask about my off-kilter beater.

I'd try going at it with a Q-tip dipped in straight bleach.    Follow that up with another Q-tip dipped in straight vinegar to neutralize the bleach.   After this dries, if there is still anything left, you could take a piece of clear packing tape and simply cover it up.   If you do that, wrap the tape all the way around the beam or make sure the the cut edges of the tape are at a place where the warp doesn't ride.

If the bleach / vinegar totally takes care of it, you could put a coat of paste wax on it and then buff it out after it's dried a bit.   This would be instead of the tape.

And then have a little talk with the parrot!
