Hi,

I am new to Weavolution and posting on line questions, so if I have made a grave error in this post please forgive me.

I have just completed my first bead weaving sampler and have obviously done something wrong. Whilst it was on the loom, the beads all layed flat, but when I released the tension and took the piece off the loom, it no longer layed flat. There are groups of beads which appear "raised". I don't know if this is a tension issue (warp or weft), or whether I am just a bad bead weaver.

Any suggestions on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Belinda

I've only done a little bit of bead weaving, so maybe someone else who has done more will chime in.   Posting pictures will help us figure it out.

Were all of the beads the same size?  I'm assuming you used that clear filament for the warp and the weft - correct?   How much did you stretch the warp on the loom?

(Use the help tab above to tell you how to post pictures.)

Hi Sally,

I will try and get some clear photos of the problem.  I made sure that all the beads were the same size but I used C-lon bead thread for the warp and the weft, not clear filament.

Using the C-lon I had the tension so that it "pinged" when tapped.

Maybe for the next project, I will try the clear filament and see if that helps.

Many thanks for your reply. It is appreciated.

Belinda-

It sounds like it may be a tension problem. Are you using a Mirrix Loom? If so, please feel free to email me directly and I can see what I can do to help!
