Most groups I belong to keep a thread going so members can introduce themselves. So...I'll start one. My name is Cindy, I live in Hancock, and although I am fiercely camera-shy, I went to the trouble (I am SO technologically backward, sigh) of downloading an image of myself as an avatar to make it easier for folks to recognize me at our gatherings. I work as a historian and freelance writer.
I have been weaving since 1980 or so, though not consistently during all that time. I currently weave on 22" Harrisville Designs and 45" Tools of the Trade 4-harness jack looms, and a 20" Schacht rigid heddle loom. I foresee the addition of a Glimakra multi-harness loom to my studio in the not-too-distant future, weaving width still to be determined (!). I also spin and knit. Over the years I have woven rugs, towels, table linens, scarves, shawls...and I don't remember what else. I am very pleased to be a NEW member of "Thrums Up!"
I live with my partner Jim; we have three children between us and two (VERY soon to be three) grandbabies.
