I've joined. I've been involved, in different roles, with numerous conferences, regional and national, including being Chair of a Convergence.

HI All....I have been involved in some aspects of conference planning since 1990. I was on the Fashion show committee for Convergence 1992 in Wash D.C, and have helped on various committees with MAFA from 1995-97. I have been a teacher and judge at conferences (MAFA, Midwest, Complex Weavers, Michigan League, MD Sheep and Wool) and guilds across the country since 1995. I have served on guild boards in every position at one time or another since 1980. I hope I can contribute to the discussion on this forum.

I've worked on several conferences and workshops - mostly in my previous life as an educator.  I'm now co-chairing Workshops for our guild and who knows where this will lead.  I just want to see where this is going and learn (and maybe share) what I can.  Virginia

If the classes I want aren't available, I volunteer to bring them to town. I recruited Convergence to Tampa in '08 then organized 50 community exhibits around the region, served as workshop chair at SAFF in 2011 - recruiting and organizing 114 workshops, and am current President of the Southeast Fiber Forum - planning our 2013 conference at Arrowmont April 4-7, 2013. An organizer by nature and profession, I take workshops in order to make time to weave, and occasionally teach. And i'm working with Robyn Spady to plan a Weaverville Rendezvous - a coast-to-coast event to promote the profession of handweaving - on Oct 6th 2012.

Typically I am a vendor at conferences and shows.  Now I am on the board of Southeast Fiber Forum working with Judi Jetson and others to bring about SFFA 2013.

and hung several large art shows, led workshops and classes, founded Creative Connection of Magdalena to put on numerous art shows bringing in artists statewide, was the Enchanted Yardage Exhibition Coordinator for Convergence 2010 in Albuquerque and have been a vendor in many, many national conferences, regional events and state-wide events.  I think my best contribution can be as a vendor, since I've "done it all" from this point of view. I have also worked extensively with vendors and vendor set-up.

I am the current chair for the 2013 ANWG (North West Weavers Guilds) to be held June 17 through the 23rd in Bellingham Washington at the Western Washington University campus. Although I have participated in work-related conferences I am new, new, new to this position and can use all the help I can get!  I will forward an invitation to all of my conference committee. Thanks for getting this going Elisa!

I am currently organising the Braids 2012 conference in the UK.  We are holding it August 19-25 in Manchester, UK and so far we have delegates from 10 countries so I'm right in the thick of making sure we have everything palnned and ready to go!  I started looking for venues 3 years ago having been given the dates. Once I found a location, I was able to start organising around that.

I've been involved in many of the Conferences that the Seattle Weavers' Guild has put on.  I'm now the Show & Exhibit Chair for the ANWG 2013 Conference, sponsered by SWG.  We have records from the previous ANWG conferences but want to be upbeat and have fresh ideas.  Working close with Rae Deane (fiberrae) who is a great Chairperson for this Conference.  We will always take suggestions and comments.

I'm on the planning committee for the Midwest Weavers Conference 2013 in Emporia, Kansas. Thank you for starting this forum! Unfortunatly MWC, ANWG, and MAFA are all being held the same week in June 2013. Hopefully this forum can help avoid this in the future.

I set up this Weavolution group in hopes of encouraging communication among conference organizers past, present, and future.  I am greatly encouraged by how many people signed up and checked in even before I set up a structure for discussions!  With your help, we'll be able to create a useful resource for the fiber-arts community!
