Announcing the WIF ‘n Proof ‘Cloud’ Service.  I have added a ‘Cloud’ service to the WIF ‘n Proof website to assist users when importing a WIF file.  This service is free of charge to any WIF ‘n Proof user who requests a ‘Cloud’ account and is approved.  This is a Desktop web application running on your PC or your Mac that allows you to upload a WIF file to your own personal account and then instantly download it to your device.  Importing a WIF file can now be done on any device whether or not it supports 'copy and paste'.  Download the new manual for a complete description of the service and how to apply for your own WIF 'n Proof 'Cloud' account.

Happy Holidays, Helen

I am so intrigued by this and want to sign up. I have a question first though. Do you need to sign up each PC seperately or is it one log in for all. I often use both my work and my home PCs.

Once you have created your 'Cloud' account, you can access it from any computer anywhere. :-)

This is great Helen! Larger wifs were hard to load on my Droid, but this side loads them in a flash.

Thank you!!!!

Hello Helen. Thank you for adding the cloud service to the Wif n Proof capabilities! It sounds terrific!

I'm a little confused about starting up the Cloud account on only my desktop PC. I apologize if my questions have been asked.  Must I get the cloud account on my desktop computer only in able to use it with a mobile device? Can I not do this directly on my new iPad 2? That is where I have my Wif n Proof set up and where I would use it. I already have Safari on my iPad but not on my desktop PC.

Thank you.

Hi Sassy Lassie

The 'Cloud' service allows you to upload a WIF file from your computer for instant access on your iPad.  It avoids using copy and paste from email or from Dropbox.  On Android devices, copy and paste can be quite slow - some older devices may take up to an hour to paste in a larger WIF file.  So my purpose originally was to help those users with slower devices, but it turns out to be very useful for iOS devices as well.  It is a very fast, very slick method to bring in a WIF file on any device, but it would defeat the purpose if you used your iPad to access your 'Cloud' account.

Unfortunately, so far Safari and Chrome are the only desktop computer browsers that fully support HTML5 which I use.  They are very easy to install.  However, with your iPad, copy and paste is quite easy so if you don't want to, you are not missing that much.

Version 1.4 and the Cloud are awesome! I am now able to create my draft in my weaving program, save it as a .wif, convert it in the Cloud, and import it into my Barnes & Noble Nook (which gives me a larger view than from my phone)! I just finished a shadow weave scarf and used Wif'nProof on my Nook to do the threading and the treadling. Worked like a dream!! If I took out a shot, I just backed up in Wif'nProof and easily kept my place.

The only thing I'd like to see added is perhaps a "Previous" button next to the "Next" button so it's a little easier to go backward.

Thanks for this terrific little program!
