Well, I have a nice Schacht bobbin winder that came with all the stuff we got from the auction but its hard to turn.  I've had my husband, Kevin, helpine me and had told him that maybe for Xmas I can get an electric bobbin winder.  After, helping with several bobbins yesterday he said he'd make me one. Well, here is a picture of it and boy, it works a charm!

I've got the same one, only in green! Mine doesn't have a clamp. But will buy one today. How silly of me not to have thought of that myself.

cordless drill for winding my bobbins since I started to weave over 10 years ago.  A couple of times I have thought to buy an electric bobbin winder, but I have always found better uses for that money while my drill works so well.  I have a manual winder, and I agree, they get tiresome to wind with.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this without marring the surface of my desk -- considering making a home-made version of this, but with the clamp and modified for my own needs.

Its clamped so I can rest my right arm on the table and use my left hand for the yarn. Very stable.

Nice clamp! My winder is an old blue Makita. :)
