I have a few yards of 3/2 cotton warp left after a project and would like to make some mug rugs.  I would like to make several across the width of the 20" warp by spacing the warp in the reed, which will leave fringe on all four sides.  I have seen this done before, but wonder how you finish these?  Do you zig-zag all the edges?  Use Fray-Check?  Hot glue?

The weaver's hemstitch is different than the term sewers use. It will lock in your stitches when you want to leave fringe that is not knotted. Otherwise, the knots at the top of your fringe will hold things in place.

I have reported it & asked for it to be removed.

If you don't want fringe and you have a serger. Leave warp as is, cut to size once woven and go around with an overlock. I sometimes make wash cloths this way with left over warp at the end provided it's thick enough cloth.
