Apple has released an update to iOS 5.1.1 which seems to have, if not solved, at least improved the problem with data loss. I still urge all users to err on the side of caution and keep a current license registration and data backup in the free WIF 'n Proof 'Cloud' account, which will allow you to recover your data with the tap of a button. On a completely off topic subject, I have released a very simple app called Macaron Mate. It's sole purpose is to allow a cook (or Macaroner as they like to call themselves) to adjust the recipe based on the weight of the egg whites. If you have not tried making macarons before but would like to give it a go, Brave Tart's no-nonsense recipe and instructions are a great place to start. This new app is basically freeware, although a donation is always appreciated, and it runs on any Apple device, Android devices, the Kindle Fire and the Nook color.
