Took delivery today on a used varpapuu "berga dalia" that was described to me as "31 1/2 in."  with outside dimensions of about 41" square.  I thought this meant an 80 cm weaving width, but it turns out  31 1/2 in. is the exact length of the breast beam, warp beam, cloth beam, etc.  The reed that came with it is a 30/80 that measures 32" in.  So what, effectively, is the max. weaving width?

Also, both warp and cloth beams have a sort of channel cut on one face that, I take it, are to help nestle the tie-on bars.  The cords are pretty new, and the tie-on bars don't seem to hit the channels.  Can someone describe (for the benefit of a calculational klutz) how I'd figure or adjust the lenght of the cords so that the tie-on bars will nestle?

Purchasing and shipping the loom was a bit traumatic for both buyer and seller.  Now the real adventure begins.
