Hi all.  As I figure out the workings of Weavolution, I have realized that there is a 'Forum' area where it looks like we can organize some topics.  I have put a Welcome topic on the forum list, so perhaps we can continue the discussion there!  Feel free to start a new Forum topic.

Happy Weaving,

I've recently discovered saori but have been weaving many years, mostly tapestry.  I was wondering what you usually use for the weft, what sort of shuttles or butterflies or what?

Also do you typically weave back the ends to tuck them in?

Thanks for the info.  Saori is very beautiful and seems to be a wonderful way to learn weaving and enjoy it.  And to also continue on and be creative.  I learned weaving in the 60s and it was a lot like that then.

hi,

I've been weaving, mostly freeform, for a year.  I'm working on a tapestry loom right now.  With a rigid heddle in the mail, 24".

I love the idea of saori, it speaks to me.  The pieces i've seen are beautiful.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm working on a tapestry right now and will take pics soon.  Also waiting for an ashford 24 " knitters loom to arrive in the next week.  Several of my projects are on my page.

This is going to an adventure long in the waiting and it's almost here.

I am new to weaving.  Got a Saori loom last year, took a class with Bobbi in New Hampshire, Freedom Weavers and then stopped weaving for a year because I got a great dane puppy which became my full time project. Dog is starting to quiet now and  I have restarted weaving.  In trying to relearn, I managed to do an 7 ft wall hanging.  Glad to have have found this site and the forum. Ritchie

Thank you for the welcome!!!   I love the group concept,   Sadly I am a couple of hours from Bobbi so this forum is great.  I had purchased another loom a Emilia so I could weave here and there--- outside on deck, over at the yurt.   Porting the Saori is a bit much for my back so I got Emilia, rigid heddle loom,  and did one scarf on it. Something seems out of kilter on it.  Next project will be on Saori.  Am finding  weaving very addictive and wools and fibers and colors such incredible fun.  l will  put up some pictures ......blessings Walking R
