I just purchased a 20^ Flip RH loom, which came with a stick shuttle.  I'm used to using a boat shuttle with my 4 Shaft floor loom, which seems too big to use with the RH.  Does anyone ever use a small boat shuttle with their RHs?  (and if so,  what brand/size?)  Seems like it might be easier to use, rather than unwrapping the stick shuttle.

Thanks!

Slim line or Damask/quill shuttles work well on most RH looms.  I have a 9" Mini from Schacht as well as a Mini from Northwest and 2 of his Quill shuttles that I routinely use on my RH looms.  I have 2 Beka, an Ashford and a small Emilia all of have sheds large enough for those shuttles to work with them.  I have even used my standard shuttles on the large Beka and Ashford a couple of times with few problems except the shuttle is too large for me to handle easily.

It is also nice to have the longer damask shuttles for wider warps.  There are damask shuttles which are 14 inches long. And they take a 6 inch quill which holds more yarn.  Check with the Woolery or the Yarn Barn.

Great! I'm going to check out some of the smaller boat shuttles you've suggested.  I think I will like using them much better.

I use a shuttle from Bosworth.  It was created so that you could use the quills from their Charka but smaller wooden bobbins also work well.  Its light enough to use with my RH looms.

Hi I am VERY new to weaving and have only been on RH looms I have been taking classes and have had the opportunity to use both stick and boat shuttles. I feel in love with the boat, its just easier for me to handle. I loved the boat so much that I have on order to sizes to use on my harp. Just thought i would throw my 2 cents in Becky
