Please could you fill me in on where you used the sock yarn in this weave draft? Was it for the long floats only?

I really like the look of the finished weave, it really does look very comfy to wear!

I used the sock yarn for ends on 1, 2, 5, 6 and the Jaggerspun on 3 and 4 and I used that color order for the weft too. Plus, I used a floating selvedge of sock yarn so it was all very easy to remember 3 sock 2 solid.  It weaves with the sock yarn as the floor and top of the waffle and the solid as the wall...and the waffles begin to appear immediately so it's a very gratifying weave structure.

Thank you so much for this info! (because I really like the effect you've got here.)

You're so welcome Beth.  It seems like there are endless possibilities for having fun.  I can envision a solid shiny yarn for the floor, a bead in the floor or some funky fun yarn on 1 and 6 or just on 1 or just on 6....

I STILL love this! I remember hearing about this project when you were weaving it over at the Yahoo Structo Group. Fantastic!

Notes

A 6-shaft waffle weave using Serenity Sock Weight Yarn (Deborah Norville Collection from Premier Yarns; superwash, bamboo and nylon; color Thyme) and Jaggerspun 8/2 natural wool for both warp and weft.  I didn't try to place the color repeats of the sock yarn, I used it just as it came from the skein. The waffles had great definition before washing and splendid definition after.  It was great fun and I'll be making more with other colorways.  It's a wonderfully squishy scarf, just what waffles should be.
