I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to having the comptuer do my math etc. So i created this little worksheet for my current dye projects. You can print it out and fill it in, or fill it in on the computer (it will even do your math for you! - i'll have that ready a little later today)

I thought it might help me keep my records clean and easy to read, and easy to find.

First is my worksheet i use on the counter - prior to dyeing. I weigh the skein without the ties, and after I weigh it, I wristband it (each band has unique number printed on it). Only after I log the weight of goods and wristband number do i add the black 4 figure eight ties to the skein.

Then I take that band to the worksheet and give it the unique band number and its' weight. When i have 3, i gather the 3 and the worksheet - at this point, the worksheet doesn't have anything but the band numbers and the weight of goods.

then when i'm ready to dye - i take the sheet with the three bands and fill in the rest of the information, like name of dye - number - dyebath info etc....

Here's a copy of the worksheet

Here's a copy of the online worksheet - if you download the online worksheet and open it with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat - you'll have the opportunity to fill it in on your screen.

Mary you're so organized! I love your worksheets especially the timed sequences, where I always have tons of notes.
