Notes

I use this Dummy-On method with most of my looms because I love what's threaded in and have not tried everything yet!  Notice the sticks (my husband made these for me, but small rulers would do) hold the cross for me and I just stop by and tie as time allows.  The left side of the sticks is tied snuggly with the string, so that the sticks slide easily along the breast beam as I add another chain (the bags are holding my chains because they are so long).  The right side of the sticks is held by a little masking tape (stuck to each stick and to the loom beam) so they will stay firmly in place as I work.  When I add a new chain, I remove the tape (can be reused), slide the sticks over, slide the new cross onto the sticks, then retape.  The warp in my hand is not yet dummied-on.  One last comment ~ I tried this with lease sticks which were much longer than needed, and dowels which created a "deep" cavern that I found difficult to manuver within.
