great adaptation of the frame!  thank you for sharing, I'm thinking maybe you could do some tiny earrings with the floatwork.  Enjoy your explorations.  Deb

I love your idea of a frame for a backstrap loom. I was trying come up something like this but had difficulty visualizing how I was going to attach the loom bars to the frame and still have adjustable warp tension, and room to open the sheds. Now I have an idea to start with.

Oh, and lovely work on the float patterns!

Notes

I am learning the 2 warp float patterns . Lavern graceously sent me some of the patterns by Cahlander.

I worked them into the same 'format' as I have used for latavian weaving and strart weaving the simplest of the patterns with 4 threads . (2 pairs of threads for patterning)

I don't do tying myself into anything (like a backstrap), so I built a very simple frame loom that does the same thing.

The key to making the little frame loom work is the elastic bands holding the the frount and the back beams together. I used hair elasitcs because they were handy. This allows the warp to shrink as you weave, otherwise the warp gets too tight to weave on the frame.
