I am part of a tour with Nadine Sanders (www.thesingingweaver.com) to Scotland. This is my second tour with Nadine- I loved the first one in 2008 so much that I am joining her group again, this time as an assistant leader. We will see lots of fibre art and enjoy music and history and culture too but here is my question: I am arriving a couple of days early to Glasgow (Apr 24) and staying on a few days after in Edinburgh (May 10-12) and then back to Glasgow for my last night (May 13)Any tips of "must see" or special events? Guild meetings? Favourite studios or galleries to visit? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

There are some amazing textile tools and actual textiles in the Museum of Scotland which is in Edinburgh. This is an excellent museum. There's a bit of a twill with blocks of colors in both warp and weft in one glass case. This piece of cloth was used as a stopper in a jar full of old coins- I think they were Roman coins. Somebody had the presence of mind to keep the bit of cloth!

There are also some industrial-revolution period looms in a very touristy place near the castle.
