very cool scarf; thanks for the" on the loom" photo. this might be a good idea to put some bulky yarn to good use ,don't you think so?

Yes - it is great for bulky yarns!

Thanks for posting this.  I really like this idea -- another great way to go 3-D with double weave.  I'm about to try some collapse weave scarves and combining that with this pinwheel layers idea has some real potential I think.

Hi Bonnie,

It was fun to make and see the result coming off the loom.  I too want to play with different fibres to do some collapse weave and see the result coming out of the wash!!

Happy Weaving!

This is very interesting and something I'm going to try!  Do you have a link to any more info on this type of weaving?

Thanks, Mary C

There is a lot of Saori weaving on my blog and also on the links page of my website you can link to others doing Saori weaving.  As far as the Cool Cross goes - no I don't have other links.   I just learned this from a friend two weeks ago.

Happy Weaving,

Terri

That's fascinating!  I had no idea what I was really going to see when I clicked on the thumbnail for this project, but I am going to have to play with the idea now!  :)

Notes

This 'Cool Cross' scarf is woven with two shuttles in a double weave type of effect in four separate strips, but when it comes off the loom it transforms into a 3-D scarf.
