I am one of the presenters.  Ladies of Laos, an intro to Lao weaving and the way they use pattern heddles to store their pick up will be presented in the Friday afternoon time slot.  So.....if you will be at the conference early please consider signing up for the class.   I teach this subject so that beginners and advanced weavers are aware of alternative ways to store pattern on their loom.  The Lao weaving is inspirational and is worth adding to your tool kit!  The class is a go so join us on Friday afternoon!

Here is the class write up!

Learn about the vertical heddle pattern equipment that stores complex pick up patterns and its use to create extraordinary fabrics that glow with brilliant color and intricate patterns We will watch as a master craftsman and his family construct the necessary equipment and then try our hand on a simple village version. .
