Hey Cindy,

I just saw that pattern and was considering making it for my mom as a holiday gift.  It looks great.  Thanks for posting it and giving such a good write up.  I understand what you mean about twisting fringe, it's a good tv type project.

Nice job,

Claudia

Claudia, thank you for the encouragement.  The shawl is very nice on the skin, too, I should mention.  I am going to make another in pink for my daughter.  There are many colors available so maybe one in  each of the other colors isn't too far off in my plans!

I just had to come and see your version of the budget bamboo shawl!  It looks so wonderful, I love the color you chose.  Like you, I made my fringe 6" long instead of 3".  It looks much better that way :)

I couldn't get my huck to open up in this shawl.  It is just little floats that sit on the surface.  I checked my threading and treadling twice.

I've never posted here before and am definitely low-tech so please bare with me.  I heard about a Budget Boamboo shawl, and found a wif here of the Bronson lace, when I clicked on it (hoping it is the full pattern) I could not open it as I don't have the software.  Could you suggest the safe software I should download on my computer? thanks

Notes

I fell in love with this pattern in the Sept/Oct issue of HandWoven magazine.  The fringe (6" not 3" in the pattern) took as long to twist as the weaving time but it was worth it!  (262 ends with 2/2 strands for twisting!)  The lace pattern really bloomed when it came off the loom!
