Very nice, and beautifully subtle effect with the variegated warp yarn.  Is the weft yarn also variegated?

No, the weft yarn is just a solid mauve color.  I love cones of variegated yarn, but have seldom been happy with how they turn out when I use them as weft. As warp, though, I think they are very neat.

I'm not sure yet what this is going to be.  It could become a shawl or I could use it as fabric to make other things.  I just needed to weave something rather than try to plan the project from beginning to end before putting anything on the loom.  This was woven with yarn already in my stash, which I really really need to get smaller!
