In El Salvador, the most common loom is the rigid heddle and they also do wonderful things.

Your first piece? I'm impressed!

How lovely.  What yarns did you use?

Hi Claudia,

I´ve used crochet cotton and silk yarns in this shawl. I´ve kept this French silk yarn for more than 30 years, after my lovely grandmother died. She used to make beautiful crochet pieces. I was sure I was going to make something beautiful with it. When I´ve started learning to weave in 2004 I remembered that I had kept his yarn, and decided to use it in my first woven work.

Thank you for your kind words.

This shawl is still good. I like the rotating projects display. I think the rigid heddle is calling me. Have a good day!
