When I use linen for weft, I put the bobbins in a placticbag whit a moist cloth/damp tissue, it makes the linen more smooth and easier to work with. In some old books; i have read, you can cover the warp with a damp cloth, it's the same effect.

you have to move the warp often, becauce the reed will slide? on the warp and course broken treads (I hope you can understand my poor english)

This particular linen (16/2 Bockens) wove without any trouble or special attention at all.  I have soaked the bobbins in water before though when I used a very thin linen, to make it stronger.  Other than that, I really don't do anything special.  Good luck with your first linen project! and thank you for the lovely comments.

I loved this color & weave effect with log cabin and the inset boxes. I thought this was spectacular. I have never tried anything quite like this, so I am really inspired by your project. Big hug for posting!

Notes

Finished the shadow weaver runner; keeping it on my coffee table. Yes, it’s a bit long, but it’s going to stay that way. Zig-zagging runners on a coffee table is going to be the new thing, didn’t you know? I’m starting a trend. :-)

16/2 wet spun linen in margiold and blue-violet.  Love weaving with the linen.  Did not draw in on the loom at all.
