Where are you located? (I think I need to come over for a glass of wine now.)

What an excellent idea, Zinniz.  Covering wine glasses for the adults but also the soft drinks for the kids to keep the wasps out. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Notes

I'm tired of insects finding their way into my wine glass!  I made a set of 10 cloths in various shades of green, yellow, and blue yarns that I got from Lunatic Fringe's Tubular Spectrum.  To accommodate even the largest of my wine glasses (which are truly huge as you can see in the photo), I made these approximately 10" square.  I hemstitched the ends and left a short fringe.

Then I got out my beads and put some black glass, small jade, and green pearl or shell beads together to make weights for each corner.  I used a nylon coated thin beading wire (Beadalon maybe?) and some crimping beads to finish.  I didn't want to use copper or steel because these will be going in the wash occasionally.

I have tested them thoroughly and the beads work wonderfully to keep the cloth in place, and they make a nice musical ting as they clink on the wine glass.  I'm quite pleased!  4 of these will be going to a friend since they match her dining room colors nicely.  The rest will be staying here for us and our guests :)
