I am restoring a 1945 Sabina CB loom and my friend built me a new sectional warp beam identical to the original.  The original dividers were wooden spikes spaced at 2 in. intervals.  I wish to keep the same 2 in. spacing, but is there something easier and faster than trying to make and install dozens of new wooden spikes for dividers?  The width of the rail is only 3/4 inch.

Thanks and GOD bless you!

Here is a link to LeClerc's photos of their sectional warp beams.  They do a good job of showing the details.  If you can make a jig to size you can bend some thick wire to make u sections to fit your loom.  In the end it will probably took as much time to gather the equipment and bend the wire as sanding and making the wooden spikes so it is your call.  In fact you might be able to order a sample "u" from them to see if it would fit your loom...your money, your time!

Hello, when restoring my 100 year old Marquardsen loom I changed to a sectional beam.I had considered using "U" clips but found them too expensive.I also considered making them, however the rod,and wire bending tool were also costly. My solution was to use "3/8 Birch wooden dowels purchased online in bulk.Since your rails look to be unattached, the holes can be drilled in a drill press perfectly straight. I used a small plastic pencil sharpener to taper the ends.No sanding necessary. All for less than 1/2 the cost of "U" spacers. Since your loom is vintage the wooden spacers will also look quite original. Also, very nice craftsmanship on your new beam! Regards, Frank.
