I have a LONG 3/2 perle cotton warp on for making blankets, and have been trying different wefts - 3/2 cotton, superwash merino, wool, and now using a sport-weight Loro Piana 100% cashmere weaving yarn.  The thing is, I'm not quite sure how I should handle wet-finishing - do I treat it like I'd treat wool?  I'd like to see it bloom a little, but I can't any information on whether that happens with cashmere.

Yes, I would treat as for wool. No way to rell for sure if it will bloom, or full. Try making a butterfly of the yarn, wet it out with a little soap and rub between your hands. If it will full it should start to happen fairly quickly. Remember that cotton does not full, though, so with a cotton warp the process will not happen as quickly. Cheers Laura

Just what I needed to hear!  I just don't know enough about the properties of cashmere to be able to predict how it would behave. :) I'll do that test right away.  Thanks - Kathy
