Hi,

I'm in the process of beginning to weave my first project which will be two hand towels with fringe on a single warping. I just spent about two hours searching the web about how to deal with the spacing between the two towels as I am weaving. I've read that if you're going to hem the towels you just weave a single pick of contrasting yarn but haven't seen anything about dealing with weaving multiple towels with fringe.

How do I space the towels on my warp if they are going to have fringe?

Thanks,

Randy

I use cardboard cut 2" wide and if possible the width of the project plus some.  Then I do a tabby between each spacer until I have enough warp left between the 2 items.  Remember to make it a little longer than you think for doing the tie off of the warp.

HI Randy....I use mini blind slats...they are 1" wide and weave in nicely...I put in as many as I need to get the amount of fringe required. I leave them in place, and when the fabric comes off the loom (after hemstitching while under tension on the loom), I simply cut apart between mini blind slats and have a nice, straight edge with a fringe as long as I desire.
