I would like to weave fabric to carry my child.  i need to have the finished width at 26", but i only have a 22" loom.

the two options i can think of are:

2 lengths stitched together - would a seam be comfortable and sturdy enough?

one length where part of the weaving is doubleweave.  from my research, twill would be the best, but since i have only 4 shafts, i would only be able to do the center portion as double weave, while the edges would have to be plain weave.

thanks!

To weave a cloth wider than your loom, you need four shafts to weave plain weave and 8 shafts to weave twill.  There is a group here working on 'rebozos' - (baby wraps) - you might want to join the Catrinas and get some feedback from them about the best way to approach this project.
