Hi all,

I'm going to be warping 120/2 silk in about a week.  I will be using my warping wheel, but I don't think that is going to give me the even tension I need.  I'm thinking of adding a tension box.  Has anyone worked this way?

I'm going to borrow a tension box this time around, but would love to hear your opinions about the various characteristics, particularly regarding their ability to handle fine threads.

Thanks,

Alison

Guiding Myth (not verified)

 HI  Allison,

Have you tried it yet?  I'd like to know how it turned out.  The warping wheel is new to me - I have used it for 5 or 6 warps now. After trying it with a cotton warp  sett at about 48 epi, I began to wonder if it would be more efficient to measure a longer & finer warp on the warping board in sections.  I am thinking about 18 yards at 60 epi.

On the other hand, every warp I have used the WW on - I had my doubts about whether it went on correctly - under enough tension etc - and every warp has performed beautifully.

Let me know what you did and how the warp performed.  Thanks.

Stephanie
