boink!  weaver's magic wand of permission, if you love it and it is structurally sound, that is a great!  Don't forget to leave room for wet finishing OR when you do wet finish it go easy, you can always finish it more, you can't "unfinish it"!

It looks really nice!

Thanks, Deb! I am actually really curious to see how it will wet finish. I am mostly used to finishing 100% wool knitting or weaving projects, so this will be a whole new category of wet finishing for me.

I am incredibly pleased with the project, even for the technical notes, because of how wonderfully it is showing off the subtle variations in the spinning and dye job in the overshot weft. The gentle fade was a pleasant surprise!

Notes

2/17/11 -- Measuring at the breast beam, I am getting 8 inches, nearly an inch of take-in! Every repeat, I keep reminding myself to go looser and looser but forgetting by the end of the repeat. I'm not terribly heartbroken with the look. The pattern is also coming out more elongated due to the varied weight of the handspun weft. Again, not heartbroken there either if it means it shows off more of my handspun!
