I'm almost compulsive about symmetry in what I weave. I love asymmetrical designs I see, but it just feels unnatural when I try it in my projects. I recently finished a baby blanket with warp and weft stripes of green, blue, yellow, and red. I call it my crayola blanket. I had just enough fabric to get two blankets out of it. I couldn't get the colors symmetrical in the warp, and there wasn't enough fabric to try to get any symmetry lengthwise, so I just cut it in the middle and left fate decide.
Turns out that each blanket starts and ends with the same color. So when I don't try for symmetry, I get it anyway.
I'll post the project and pictures later. First I have to make a run to JoAnn's to get the right color thread for sewing the hems.
