I bought a 40" B5 Ad A Harness. It has a single beam and the back beam has a built-in raddle (YAY).  A sectional beam is in its future.  It has 4 harnesses right now and I am going to add the other 6 ... eventually.  I really enjoy weaving fabric with textures

Would someone please post pictures of the springs and chains and where they go?  I have a spring attached to piece of rope and chain -- sitting in the box.  I also have a dead (stretched out) spring hanging from the loom attached to a chain that is attached to the brake pedal on the insdie right side of the loom (when facing the front beam).  I know I will have to replace the dead spring, but I have no idea what the first spring and rope are for and where they go.

It also came with 6 heavy-duty giant cotter pins (about 8 inches long).  Anyone know what they are for?  Also it came with a bunch of 16 penny nails about 6" long, some big washers and a couple nuts.  The cloth apron is made from a rather finely woven cotton like muslin.  I may replace it with a canvas one -- this seems a little flimsy.    It has old style tie up rods and a 9 dent reed.  A 12 dent will be here by next week...

Any help will be appreciated.

I am thinking the spring and string is the drag line, see picture below. Nails, pins, washers etc. not certain. The 8 inch pin may have been used to hold up the heddle frames when dressing the loom. They would go under the jacks. The lower picture shows a two beam brake system. Just look at the one on the right with the spring. I will send a better picture of a rachet brake tomorrow.

This is the third time I have tried to say thank you....The spring and rope are identical to the picture and I will install as such. Maybe the cotter pins were just in the box for no reason... THank you for your quick response.
