I was weaving some kitchen towels.  I had warped for four towels and was on the fourth one.   I was trying a new pattern and estimated a bit short for the middle part.  But didn't realize it until I had finished the end pattern and measured.  So...

I undid the end pattern and got back to the middle pattern.  In doing so, I had to rewind back on to the back beam.  Everything seems to go fairly well, but when I started up weaving again things weren't right.

I am getting upturns on each end. Like half a smile on each end of the weaving.   I have checked tension, and to my novice touch everything is tight.   What am I missing?   Any suggestions?    I have undone and tried a few times with the same results.

One side did look looser than the rest of the warp when I was winding on the back beam.  I have no idea why.   I tried adding extra tension to that end, but am getting nowhere.

Before I just cut the whole thing off the loom I am open to suggestions. (Taking up a new hobby might be one of them!)

Tom, You can try putting something under the outside edges of the warp threads,on the beam like a rag, dowel etc you could even take 1/2 inch of the warp on either side and tie them up and put a weight on them. Then again you could just weave the last towel off and hope "it all comes out in the wash" Cheryl (my wife) saids you need to look in one of the many books or mags under correcting weaveing tension problems. Remember every "new" hobby has it own problems.

Michael, thanks for your comments.  I have finished it, and will see how it comes out after washing.

I appreciate the time you took to help out.
