I have a metal piece that came with my loom, it's wedge shaped with stair step increments on one side.  Someone mentioned that it is for using with the warp.  Does anyone know how to use it and what it's puprose is?

this piece is placed on the brake release and under the bottom cross piece and is used to keep the brake unlocked when doing sectional warping or anytime you want the brake to be released. Somewhere in this group posting you can see a picture of this device in use.

Thanks so much for the info. I won't need to use that gizmo. I did find a picture of the spring rope device used for controlling the warp release and immediately hooked mine up. I couldn't figure out what that was used for either. I've had this loom for 38 years but am using it more now that i'm retired. I'm amazed at how well these Macomber looms were engineered. My first loom was a heavy oak Kessnick which I was able to sell. I love my Macomber!
