As I progress toward the point of warping up a new "wide" project I reminded myself I need to make some more things to assist me. Since I had modified my warp beam from canvas apron to segmented I need to be mindful of winding yarn on at a proper tension - so I made a tension box from a piece of 2x10, 1x4 and some hardwood dowel rods. Next I recalled seeing the posts and photos about a "bridge - stretcher" ,,, so I go again to the workshop and come out with my "v1.0 prototype" stretcher that I can use from 14 inches up to 36 inches wide. After pulling off loads of yarn and dyeing it, then getting it rewound on paper towel tubes I had to think not outside of the box - but inside as a way to put these tube rolls of yarn to be able to pull them off to make warp or to wind bobbins. Cardboard box and 1/2 inch PVC pipe works about as good as an umbrella swift (that I do not have and have yet to get). I have to admit - weaving can really bring out lots of creative ideas. I really am enjoying the wire tube holder that I am using in the battery drill - it is almost as good as the taper wrapped duct tape on dowel rod that is my bobbin winding piece that I also use with the battery drill.

Very inventive--and you've given me a new idea for how to hold multiple colors for warping up tablet weaving.
