Sorry if this isn't posted correctly.

I am working on restoring an old loom to a working condition for a class project.

First thing is first, we are trying to identify what kind/type/brand/whathaveyou that this particular loom is.

Anything look familiar to anyone?

Your rug loom is similar to many looms of it's day.  You seem to be missing parts, though. The castle uprights and the harnesses which control the threads are not shown in your photo.

There are a few on-line resources you might look at.  Handweaving.net has information on the Union Loom, which yours resembles.  You can probably look up Oriental Loom Company (Orco Loom) there as well.  And you can contact Janet Meany who manages the Loom Manual Library.  Look here on Weavolution at any rug weaving groups too!

I actually contacted Janet and just read her reply prior to reading yours. She also agrees that it looks like a Union Special Loom. I have not yet seen the loom in person, Just a few photos from the owner. It is very possible that pieces are either missing or may just be in other photos.
Thank you so much for your input and resources!
