The opportunity to purchase a used Nilus, but still in good condition, and I am just wondering if there is anything I need to consider with this loom? Any one have some words of wisdom? ;)

I purchased a used LeClerc  Fanny  60".  I never saw it in operation but it appeared to have been cared for.  After buying it, I then took a weaving course.  This was last fall (2010).  Only within the last month, I finally set up the loom in my living room, it is approx 5 feet square.  I have had no trouble with it  and am very happy with my purchase.  LeClerc has a very good website you may wish to peruse.

I trained on a LeClerc so therefore I don't know about any other makes but I imagine they are all pretty good.

Have fun

Leclerc is one of my favorite looms to work on. They are super nice for threading because you can easily remove the breast beam and cloth drum to put your kitchen chair right in the loom. It's comfortable, which makes the whole process enjoyable. They are easy to treadle. I'd so go for it, you won't regret it!
