I must have made at least one error in threading, tie-up, or treadling when I entered Margaret Windeknecht's Extended Divided Twill.  I posted the draft in (on?) my draft section to see if anyone has experience with this draft and/or can locate my error(s). I tried changing the compenents where the lines don't look right, but that just made the pattern less right.   Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated -

First, I should say that I haven't seen the book.

But, starting with your .wif, what I did was add some colour, and it took on a different look:

(I think you have one tabby too many, by the arrow) (Edit: no, it is probably the "bottom" tabby that is the exra one - )

Also, to me the intersections of the plain weave borders are somewhat, um, inconsequential? So I doodled on - and landed in a 6-shaft variant:

To get the plain/plain crossings correct, the tabbies (both warp and weft) have to be reversed.

Your draft looks like what I want to weave!  Thank you!

computer question:  what format (wif, jpeg, pdf, et.al.) were your drafts in to get them to upload and to circle portions in green?

Thanks again, Kerstin

I'm using Fiberworks PCW, ctrl+M makes a copy, paste it into something called paint.net (which is the only free pic editing software I have found which makes "open" circles). paint.net prefers to save in .png format, but can do others too.

... but it sure looked odd in just one colour...
